Night and Day Disc Golf Tournament Lights Up the Night Sky

(Rapid City) The 9^th Annual Night and Day Disc Golf Event, presented by the Black Hills Disc Golf Confederacy, was held Saturday, July 12, 2008. The field totaled 55 participants. Players competed in an evening round, followed by a night round played with glowsticks on all baskets and discs. In the Advanced division, Rapid City’s John Anderson led all players with an 89 and finished two strokes ahead of Chad Larson of Lawrence, Kansas. In the Masters division, Scott Caesar of Rapid City defeated Kayne Larimer by two strokes, carding a score of 91. Steve Bernard finished third with a score of 97. The large field in the Intermediate division was led by Brice Johnson of Rapid City as he carded a score of 102, one stroke ahead of Tyler Scovell and Justin Cournoyer. The Recreational division was won by Mark Gouldner, shooting 109, with second place going to Justin Hirchert and Graham Heberlig, both carding a 115. The Women’s division was secured by Theresa O’Connell, of Rapid City, with a score of 130. Brenda Bure of Hill City came in second with a 132. Nelson Horsley won the junior division, carding a 117.
