I think it's because we need to better explain why league can be fun for so many levels of players, men and women alike. I'm now starting to think another league page with a detailed "pitch" and some pics maybe is a good way to spread the word that discgolf league is about fun and people, with friendly competition mixed in to make it interesting. Nothing more than just a ton of close to free fun, with a possibility to take a few hundred ace-pool dollars home any given Tuesday...

Playing with different players in league play is not only fun but you can learn from others.

Before I started playing on league nights, I was concerned about not knowing the rules and ettequite of the sport in the more formal setting that I assumed that league play would present. Didn't want to step on anybody's toes or do the wrong thing at the wrong time during play. As it turned out I was worried about nothing. While league play is more structured than a casual round you'll find that the people you play with aren't rule nazis and are more than happy to explain things to you. The knowledge is there for the asking. In the short term it was a great way to learn and have fun on tuesday nights. In the long term it was a stepping stone to being more comfortable in tournaments. Pretty good return on such a small investment.

If you wanna play tournys league is a great start it puts you in a competitive mind set and prepares the mental game as much as the physical game, and all those course hrs that you put in are put to the test and the bottom reason we play is for the love and fun of disc golf....

I recently picked up playing disk golf this spring and have loved every minute of it. Right now I live in Indianapolis, IN however I am moving to Deadwood in the first half of June. I was looking for courses on-line to continue my new hobby and luckily found your web site. My question then is there anything I have to do to get into the league, or can I just show up one tuesday? Are there any dues or fees? Thanks I look forward to getting out to SD and improving my disk golf skills

Dan...we certainly know the feeling around here. Disc Golf is felt in our bones :-) I'm glad to hear about yet another newbie falling in love with the game, and it would be a pleasure to meet you any given Tuesday @ 5:30. Our leagues are "drop-in" leagues so-to-speak. Show up any Tuesday, all Tuesdays, some Tuesdays; it doesn't matter. Just join us as much as possible and we're happy to get you on a card. Check out the info on the League tab above for more info. It's only 2-bucks each time you play & an additional buck to get in the ace pool for the night. Look forward to seeing you out here, have a safe move :-)

There are not many quality disc golf clubs in the nation. So all kind of golf lovers- whether they are professionals or amateurs- should be given opportunities. Only thing that matters is you have to be a golf lover. I believe Black hill disc golf club is showing a good example in it.
